Procurement Officer - Catering

• Procure food items, including vegetables & fruits, groceries, meat, poultry, seafood, dairy products and dry goods.

• Procure non-food items, including cleaning materials, disposables, uniforms, kitchen equipment and operational supplies.

• Obtain and compare quotations from multiple suppliers.

• Negotiate competitive prices, credit terms, delivery schedules and supply agreements.

• Prepare purchase orders and ensure all necessary approvals are obtained.

• Coordinate with kitchens, stores, operations and accounts regarding purchasing requirements.

• Ensure timely delivery of goods to kitchens, stores and project sites.

• Verify that purchased items meet the required quality, quantity and specifications.

• Monitor market prices and recommend cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality.

• Develop and maintain reliable supplier relationships.

• Identify alternative suppliers and products when required.

• Follow up on delayed deliveries, shortages, rejected items and supplier‑related issues.

• Maintain accurate quotations, purchase orders, invoices and supplier records.

• Support supplier evaluations and periodic price comparisons.

• Handle urgent purchasing requirements when necessary.

• Ensure transparency, accuracy and integrity throughout the procurement process.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Mandatory experience as a Procurement Officer or Purchase Officer within a catering company.

• Relevant experience in purchasing both food and non-food items.

• Good knowledge of food products, quality standards, shelf life and storage requirements.

• Knowledge of UAE suppliers and the local purchasing market is preferred.

• Strong negotiation, supplier‑management and cost‑control skills.

• Good working knowledge of MS Excel and procurement or ERP systems.

• Ability to manage multiple requirements and meet strict delivery timelines.

• Strong coordination and documentation skills.

• High level of honesty, integrity and accountability.
