Meter Team Lead

Job Description

Responsible for Managing the Team and collection of meter readings, maintenance and repair of end user meters, Communication & performing the Reconnections and suspensions of cooling Meters supply. Utilising modern technologies in work for Closing or performing Work orders, this role will require the work activities to be performed as to agreed processes and within the commercial time frames as set within the team.

• Meters Maintenance and Repair
  • Perform routine maintenance of meters.
  • Use the meter reader to obtain BTU meter readings accurately and carry out maintenance activities.
  • Capture accurate meter reads during manual readings via move‑in/move‑out processes.
  • Identify meter health status; repair or replace faulty meters or parts.
  • Regularly check inventory and order required parts when needed.
  • After any repair or replacement, ensure meters are properly insulated and the area under the meter is clean.
• Meters Communication
  • Ensure all meter M‑Bus communications are stable; regularly check GSM devices and M‑Bus masters.
  • In case of short circuit or overload, report to Meter Manager and coordinate team action to resolve within 24 hours and report for communication loop testing.
  • Fix communication issues permanently or recommend additional hardware if required; maintain stock of communication devices.
• Health, Safety and Environment
  • Ensure HSE certificates are valid; coordinate annual work‑at‑height safety training for team.
  • Attend scaffolding erection and dismantling training every year.
  • Renew scaffolding certificate every 6 months before expiry.
  • Renew or apply for ladders and tools certification every 6 months.
  • Check PPE daily; ensure no site work is performed without PPE.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to maintain employee safety and regulatory compliance.
• Attendance and Timing
  • Prepare daily timesheets.
  • Submit monthly timesheets to Meter Manager for approval.
  • Maintain punctuality and ensure team attendance compliance.
  • Record and submit short leave and overtime (with pre‑approval) monthly.
• Annual Leave / Short Leave
  • Apply for annual leave 3 months in advance (self and team).
  • Maintain records of short leave and submit monthly to Meter Manager.
• Suspension / Reconnection
  • Assess end‑user meters for suspension or reconnection requirements.
  • Follow procedures and update online system after each task.
  • Ensure valve isolation during suspension and proper opening during reconnection.
  • Complete suspension/reconnection tasks the same day if assigned before 3:00 PM and update system accordingly.
• Policies & Procedures
  • Follow all departmental policies, processes, SOPs and instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with legal frameworks including discipline, grievance, redundancy and employment law.
• Vehicle Management Responsibility
  • Maintain driver handover records and submit updates to Meter Manager.
  • Ensure proper vehicle parking.
  • Keep company vehicles clean.
  • Ensure only authorized (Tasleem/work‑related) personnel use the vehicle.
