Job Purpose
Responsible for safely and efficiently handling explosives and detonating devices during wireline logging operations. Ensures compliance with all safety regulations and procedures while maintaining operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Accountabilities- Safely handle, transport, and store explosives and detonating devices according to established safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare explosive charges and detonating systems for deployment in wellbore operations, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Execute the deployment and detonation of explosive charges in accordance with operational plans and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with other members of the logging services team to coordinate activities and ensure seamless integration of explosive operations with overall logging operations.
- Comply with all UAE, ADNOC, ADNOC Drilling and client Asset Integrity Management codes of practice.
- Implement and comply with all relevant functional policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures to accomplish operational objectives.
- Provide on-the-job training to meet competency-based training programs for UAE Nationalization.
- Maintain all tools, safety gear and equipment provided by company safely and in working condition; arrange for repair or replacement if not in good working condition.
- Carry out all maintenance jobs in line with assigned time standards.
- Inform the Maintenance Supervisor if additional resources are required to carry out the job within the assigned time frame.
- Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in operating procedures, modification of functional processes, machinery or equipment.
- Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the Division.
- Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during and after executing the job, in line with established standards of Hygiene and Housekeeping.
- Collect technical data from the field and provide inputs to prepare Section progress reports for Company Management.
- Provide input for the preparation of Method statements and initiate Near Miss reports.
- Regular contact with Supervisor.
- None with external parties.
Minimum Qualification
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in explosives handling or a related field, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Certification or training in explosives handling and safety (e.g., Explosives Handler Certification) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with wireline logging operations and equipment is an advantage.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging environments, including outdoor and offshore.
