Room Attendant

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Room Attendant to join our hospitality team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Rooms, you will deliver exceptional housekeeping services while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and care.

• Provide consistently professional, friendly, and engaging service to all guests while respecting their privacy and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
• Clean and service assigned guest rooms, suites, and public areas in accordance with established hotel standards and procedures.
• Perform comprehensive housekeeping duties, including making beds, changing linens, dusting and polishing furniture, vacuuming carpets, cleaning floors, and thoroughly sanitizing bathrooms.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces to ensure a spotless appearance throughout guest areas.
• Remove trash and used items from rooms promptly and dispose of them in accordance with organizational guidelines.
• Replenish guest room supplies such as towels, toiletries, and amenities in a timely and organized manner.
• Inspect rooms thoroughly to ensure cleanliness, proper setup, and functionality of all equipment and fixtures.
• Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate department.
• Maintain housekeeping carts, storage areas, and linen closets in an organized, clean, and efficient manner.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Assist with special cleaning projects, deep cleaning tasks, and room preparations as assigned.
• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and willingness to support team needs during peak periods.

• Cooperate and comply with Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island in regard to OSH instructions and safe working procedures.
• Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves, environment and others at work.
• Do not adversely interfere with anything provided for OSH.
• Cooperate with the organization with respect to actions taken to protect the employee and OSH requirements.
• Follow OSHMS procedures as applicable.
• Raise identified OSH issues with designated persons and take part in OSH consultative arrangements.
• Report all near miss/hazard/unsafe conditions or acts.
• Use appropriate PPE and safety systems.
• Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
• Attend OSH training as required by the training needs analysis.
• Maintain all OSHMS records as required by the Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island.
• Hold authority to stop any hazardous activity within the workplace.
• Be consulted by the direct manager/supervisor.
• Be communicated by management on OSH matters and changes.
• Have specific job descriptions and inductions on OSH responsibilities.
• Report any hazards and receive feedback on that.
• Participate in OSH matters such as risk assessments, incident investigations, PPE selections, hazard control selections, and management of change processes.
• Assign OSH representative from employees.
• Regularly report to direct manager/supervisor.
• Account for their own acts of negligence to laid down procedures.
• Attend all trainings & TBT and work according to the training & TBT plan.
• Abide and perform according to RHAUH OSHMS and local OSH, SRA & food safety regulatory frameworks.
• Ensure safety of self and equipment used and tasks performed.
• Accountable to protect others who may be affected by their work.
• Work according to the job descriptions provided.
• Maintain sustainability policies and procedures within their departments per ESG company targets and KPIs.
• Ensure department‑specific environmental SOPs and procedures are followed.
• Monitor daily practices related to waste segregation, energy, and water use.
• Identify opportunities for waste reduction and energy and water efficiency improvements.
• Report environmental issues, non‑compliance, or improvement opportunities to management.
• Ensure new colleagues receive environmental and sustainability orientation.
• Participate in a hotel‑relevant CSR activity.
