About the RoleThe Assistant Technician position is an entry-level technical role within the Aero Engine MRO Division, specifically in the Engine Operations Department. This role supports engine maintenance activities by assisting qualified Technicians and senior technical staff across various gated processes and engine programs. The Assistant Technician performs basic, non-critical, and preparatory tasks under close supervision, adhering strictly to approved work instructions, safety requirements, and quality procedures.
This role emphasizes learning, skill development, and safe exposure to engine maintenance environments while contributing to operational readiness and shop efficiency. Deployment may occur across Gate 0 & 1, Gate 2, Gate 3 & 4, LEAP, or GEnx areas depending on training progression, business needs, and authorization level.
- Engine Maintenance Support Activities (60%):
Assist Technicians and Senior Technicians with engine maintenance tasks such as preparation, cleaning, tool handling, component movement, and basic task execution in accordance with approved work instructions and under direct supervision. Support gated engine processes in areas including Gate 0 & 1 (component cleaning and basic inspection support), Gate 2 (special process assistance), Gate 3 & 4 (assembly and test preparation), and LEAP/GEnx programs with entry-level support activities. - Compliance, Quality, and Safety Awareness (20%):
Follow all aviation safety, quality, and HS&E requirements at all times; use required personal protective equipment; report any unsafe conditions or deviations immediately; and support accurate documentation and record-keeping. - Learning, Training, and Skill Development (10%):
Participate actively in on-the-job and classroom training, learn basic engine MRO concepts and shop practices, seek guidance to ensure correct task execution, and progress gradually in line with the training framework. - Professional Conduct and Team Support (10%):
Demonstrate professional behavior aligned with company values, cooperate effectively with team members and supervisors, maintain discipline and punctuality, and communicate questions or improvement ideas through appropriate channels.
We seek candidates who hold a high school diploma or equivalent with vocational or technical training in aviation, aeronautical engineering, MRO, or related disciplines. No prior MRO or aviation experience is required; fresh graduates and those with limited technical exposure are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates demonstrate foundational knowledge of aero engine maintenance concepts and gated processes, with the ability to follow instructions precisely under close supervision.
Key competencies include quality and safety awareness, attention to detail, basic IT and communication skills, a strong learning orientation, adaptability, and professional integrity. Reliability, discipline, and a commitment to ethical standards are essential for success in this role.
