Job Description Main Accountabilities:

The Workshop Junior Welder / Welder is responsible for repairing and maintaining vehicles, equipment, tools, etc. to meet Veolia standards.

Job Description:

Main tasks
- Receiving the vehicle, equipment, tool, etc. and assessing the need for repair.

- Carry out any welding repair required as instructed by the welding team leader.

- Fabricate any cages/bins/skips which may be required for waste management purposes.

- Preparing all the necessary measurements for the quantity and quality of materials and spare parts.

- Ensure that the vehicle, equipment, tools, etc., have no problems before delivery.

- Use various tools such as welding machines, grinders, cutting tools and gas to repair company assets to the highest standard.

- Ensure all welding work is carried out to the highest standard and be able to pass a quality test if required.

- Follow all Veolia policies regarding hot works
- Respond to work orders in a timely and courteous manner.

- Executing safety and hygiene instructions inside the workshop.

- Maintain all tools and equipment in good repair and working condition.

- Using the safety and preventive uniform (PPE).

- Keeping all materials clean and organised.

- Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled.

- Do not start or stop any activity if it believes it cannot be done safely, or it fails to meet Veolia's environmental and health standards.

- Follow the job safety plans and requirements laid down in the Permit to Work form.

- Follows Veolia rules, Procedures and Work instructions.

- Respond rapidly to requests for emergency and non-emergency assistance in a professional manner.

- Train and develop subordinates.

- Coordinates with Veolia employees to achieve the required tasks.

- Diligently perform any other reasonable work or related tasks at the request of the senior.

QHSE
- Understand, implement and follow the Veolia/ADOSH QHSE policies.

- Report any accident, near-miss, dangerous occurrence or dangerous condition to the Senior as per VESE HSE procedures.

- Carrying out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions, and to comply with QHSE procedures.

- If aware of any unsafe practice or condition, or if in any doubt about the safety of any situation, consult the senior.

- Obtaining and using the correct tools/equipment for the work and not using any that are unsafe or damaged. All tools, equipment and personal protective equipment must be stored in good condition in the approved place after use.

- Use the correct personal protective clothing/equipment and follow the safety requirements and procedures.

- Not participating in horseplay or placing fellow employees in danger by their actions.

- Perform a Mental Safety Assessment before starting the activity.
