Senior Procurement Director – Executive Leadership Position

A major organisation in Abu Dhabi is seeking an accomplished Senior Procurement Director to join its executive leadership structure and lead a large, complex procurement function.

This is a highly strategic executive appointment requiring significant procurement leadership experience gained within heavy industry, energy, utilities, oil & gas, infrastructure or a similarly complex, asset-intensive environment
.

The successful individual will take ownership of a broad procurement portfolio, shaping procurement strategy, leading major negotiations, strategic sourcing and tendering activity, while driving value, cost efficiencies and long-term supplier performance.

The role will also involve significant engagement with senior stakeholders across the organisation and leadership of a high-performing procurement team.

• Develop and deliver long-term procurement strategies aligned to wider business objectives.
• Lead major commercial negotiations and complex, high-value contract awards.
• Oversee strategic sourcing and end-to-end RFx processes.
• Drive supplier relationship and performance management.
• Ensure procurement activity meets appropriate governance, policy and approval requirements.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to identify commercial opportunities and deliver value.
• Use market intelligence, benchmarking and commercial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Lead and develop the procurement function, driving capability and continuous improvement.

This position requires an established procurement leader with the experience and credibility to operate at executive level within a large, complex organisation.

• 15+ years of procurement / supply chain experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
• Significant procurement leadership experience within heavy industry, energy, utilities, oil & gas, infrastructure or another relevant asset-intensive sector.
• Significant experience developing and executing procurement strategies across complex organisations.
• A strong track record across strategic sourcing, tender management, contract negotiation and supplier management.
• Experience leading complex, high-value and business-critical procurement activity.
• Strong senior stakeholder management and executive-level communication skills.
• Proven experience leading and developing procurement teams.
• A relevant bachelor's degree, with postgraduate qualifications considered advantageous.
