We are now looking for an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead the business into its next phase of growth.
Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on, commercially minded General Manager with strong experience in the automotive spare parts industry to take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management, growth and profitability of Al Mohr Auto Spare Parts LLC.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the automotive aftermarket and spare parts business, with particular knowledge of American and Japanese vehicles and spare parts. The candidate should be an experienced leader who can manage people, suppliers, inventory, finances and operations while, importantly, driving sales and developing new business opportunities. This is a senior leadership role for someone who is capable of taking ownership of the business, identifying opportunities for growth, improving operational efficiency and building a strong, motivated team.
The General Manager will work closely with the owners/directors to develop and implement business strategies, improve profitability, strengthen supplier and customer relationships and ensure that the company's reputation for quality, transparency and professionalism continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
1. Overall Business Management
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations and performance of the company.
- Ensure all departments operate efficiently and in line with company objectives.
- Develop and implement annual business plans, budgets and growth strategies.
- Report regularly to the owners/directors on sales, profitability, costs, inventory and overall business performance.
- Identify operational issues and implement practical solutions quickly.
2. Sales & Business Development
- Take direct responsibility for driving sales growth and achieving revenue targets
. - Develop new customer accounts and strengthen relationships with existing customers.
- Identify opportunities to expand the customer base across garages, workshops, retailers, fleet operators, traders and other automotive businesses.
- Develop sales strategies, targets and incentives for the sales team.
- Monitor sales performance and take corrective action where targets are not being achieved.
- Explore opportunities to introduce new product categories, brands and markets.
- Build long-term relationships with key customers and personally manage major accounts where required.
3. Spare Parts & Inventory Management
- Oversee purchasing, stock management, warehousing and distribution of spare parts.
- Ensure the right products are available at the right quantity and at the right cost.
- Develop inventory strategies to improve stock turnover and reduce slow-moving and obsolete stock.
- Monitor stock ageing, margins, purchasing patterns and inventory turnover.
- Ensure proper storage, stock rotation, documentation and control procedures are followed.
- Analyse sales trends and customer demand to determine future purchasing requirements.
4. Purchasing & Supplier Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
- Negotiate competitive prices, payment terms, credit facilities and delivery conditions.
- Evaluate suppliers based on pricing, quality, availability and reliability.
- Identify new suppliers and brands that can improve product availability and margins.
- Ensure purchasing decisions support both customer demand and company profitability.
5. Financial & Profitability Management
- Take responsibility for improving overall business profitability.
- Monitor gross margins, operating costs, purchasing costs and departmental expenses.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets and business forecasts.
- Monitor receivables and work with the finance team to ensure timely collections.
- Identify areas for cost control without compromising product quality or customer service.
- Provide management with accurate financial and operational performance reports.
