Info About What The General Manager Role EntailsOur client is looking to appoint an experienced, commercially driven General Manager to lead its established Middle East business and deliver the next phase of growth.
This is a significantly broader role than a traditional sales leadership position. The General Manager will be responsible for the overall performance of the regional operation, leading its commercial, service and operational functions while developing and implementing a clear strategy for sustainable growth.
The Middle East is an important market for the organisation, with an established customer base and considerable potential for further expansion. The company is ambitious about increasing its regional presence and building a substantially larger business over the coming years.
The successful candidate will inherit an established operation, experienced team and partner / distributor network, while having considerable freedom to shape the regional strategy, structure and future direction. There is potential to double existing turnover in the region within the next few years.

Essential Requirements Of The General Manager- Senior commercial leadership or general management experience in the Middle East.
- Strong knowledge of the UAE and wider Gulf market.
- Strong distributor and channel-partner management experience.
- Proven success delivering regional revenue growth through partners and distributors
- Experience selling technical products or systems into industrial or safety-critical markets.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary commercial and operational teams.
- Commercially and numerically strong, with strategic and operational capability.
- Hands-on, decisive and emotionally intelligent leadership style.
- Gas detection, fire safety, industrial safety or instrumentation experience.
- Strong oil and gas market experience.
- Existing relationships with Gulf distributors, end users and consultants.
- Experience launching new technical products.
- Responsibility for service, support or warranty functions.
- Full regional P&L or General Manager experience.
- Relevant technical, engineering or commercial qualification.

- Commission is based on sales growth above the previous year's performance, paying 20% of salary s increases to around 100% of salary at 2× target and 200% of salary at 4× target.
