We are seeking an experienced, operationally focused, and strategic Director of Airport Operations to lead airport operations and ensure safe, efficient, compliant, and high‑quality airport services. In this senior leadership role, you will oversee daily airport operations, operational performance, service delivery, workforce planning, safety and compliance, stakeholder coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with senior management, airport stakeholders, airlines, ground‑handling teams, security teams, and relevant authorities to support smooth and efficient airport operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee day-to-day airport operations and operational activities.
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Monitor airport operational performance, service standards, and key performance indicators.
- Ensure efficient coordination between airport departments and operational stakeholders.
- Oversee passenger, terminal, airside, and ground operations as applicable.
- Coordinate with airlines, ground handlers, security teams, service providers, and airport partners.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards.
- Monitor staffing requirements, workforce planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Ensure operational activities comply with applicable aviation regulations, safety requirements, and company policies.
- Support airport safety, security, emergency‑response, and business‑continuity initiatives.
- Identify operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Lead continuous‑improvement projects to enhance efficiency, service quality, and operational performance.
- Monitor operational incidents, investigate issues, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Prepare operational reports, performance dashboards, and management updates.
- Manage operational budgets, resources, and departmental costs where applicable.
- Lead, coach, and develop airport operations teams.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and customer service.
- Support airport expansion, operational transformation, and other strategic initiatives.
- Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong leadership and airport‑operations management capabilities. Extensive experience in airport, aviation, airline, ground‑handling, or related operations. Strong understanding of airport operational processes and service delivery. Excellent knowledge of safety, security, risk‑management, and operational procedures. Strong stakeholder‑management and communication skills. Excellent decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to manage complex operations in a fast‑paced environment. Strong workforce‑planning and team‑management capabilities. Ability to manage multiple operational priorities effectively.
Strong analytical skills and experience using operational performance data. High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Airport Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Significant experience in airport or aviation operations, including leadership or management experience.
- Proven experience managing large operational teams or complex airport functions.
- Experience developing operational policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Knowledge of applicable UAE aviation regulations and airport operating requirements is an advantage.
- Experience with airport operational systems and reporting tools is preferred.
- Relevant aviation, airport, safety, or management certifications are an advantage.
- Strong command of English;
Arabic language skills are an advantage.
