Job description

Amazon is seeking an experienced and results-driven Linehaul Manager to lead end-to-end linehaul operations across all UAE business lines, including Fulfilment Centres (FC), Amazon Transportation Services (ATS), Amazon Logistics (AMZL), and Quick Commerce.

This role is responsible for creating an integrated transportation operation that ensures the safe, reliable, and cost-effective movement of shipments between fulfilment centres, sort centres, delivery stations, Quick Commerce sites, carrier facilities, and other nodes across the network.

The successful candidate will have significant experience leading complex linehaul or middle-mile operations in a fast-paced environment. They will manage external transportation partners, align stakeholders across multiple business lines, and use data to improve safety, service, capacity, speed, and cost.

The Linehaul Manager will balance the different operating requirements of each business line, from planned FC and ATS movements to time-critical AMZL and Quick Commerce operations. This requires a hands-on leader who can anticipate risks, resolve disruptions, and develop scalable transportation solutions that support Amazon’s continued growth in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end linehaul operations across FC, ATS, AMZL, and Quick Commerce in the UAE.
  • Establish a single, coordinated operating plan across business lines while accounting for different customer promises, cut-off times, capacity requirements, and service-level expectations.
  • Ensure the safe, timely, and efficient movement of shipments between all nodes in the transportation network.
  • Own operational performance against key metrics, including safety, on-time departure and arrival, connectivity, capacity utilisation, cancellation rate, service quality, and transportation cost.
  • Develop short-, medium-, and long-term transportation plans aligned with volume forecasts, network changes, new site launches, and business growth.
  • Manage external carriers and transportation partners, setting clear expectations and holding partners accountable for safety, compliance, capacity, and service performance.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across FC, ATS, AMZL, Quick Commerce, Procurement, Finance, Safety, Security, and regional transportation teams.
  • Lead cross-business-line planning and execution for major events, including Ramadan, Prime Day, White Friday, and year-end Peak.
  • Balance transportation capacity across business lines and make effective allocation decisions during periods of constraint or disruption.
  • Identify operational risks and establish contingency plans that protect customer experience across the network.
  • Lead the response to operational disruptions and escalations, including missed connections, vehicle shortages, carrier failures, route restrictions, and unexpected volume increases.
  • Investigate service failures, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Use operational data to identify opportunities to improve network design, asset utilisation, route efficiency, reliability, speed, and cost.
  • Lead regular performance reviews with carriers and internal stakeholders, ensuring actions have clear owners and completion dates.
  • Support carrier sourcing, onboarding, contracting, and performance-management activities in partnership with Procurement and relevant business teams.
  • Ensure all transportation activities comply with Amazon safety standards and applicable UAE transport regulations.
  • Develop common standard operating procedures and governance mechanisms across business lines while retaining solutions required for specific operational needs.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members, creating a culture of safety, ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide operational leadership outside standard working hours when required to support a 24/7 transportation network.
  • 3+ years of employee and performance management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • 3+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
