Job Title: SAW Welder
Reports to: Production Engineer
Job ObjectivesTo be able execute high-quality Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) on heavy pressure vessels in compliance with approved WPS, drawings, and applicable codes such as ASME and ADNOC specifications, ensuring defect‑free welds, optimal productivity, and adherence to safety and project timelines.
Responsibilities and Duties- Perform SAW welding on longitudinal, circumferential, nozzle seams as per WPS
- Set and control welding parameters (current, voltage, speed, wire & flux)
- Ensure weld quality meets ASME and ADNOC specifications
- Check joint fit‑up, alignment, and cleanliness before welding
- Prevent defects and ensure welds pass RT/UT inspection
- Follow preheat and interpass temperature requirements
- Operate welding equipment safely and maintain housekeeping
- Meet productivity targets and report issues to supervisor
Certified SAW welder with relevant code qualification and hands‑on experience in heavy vessel fabrication. Proven ability in multi‑pass welding on thick materials, basic knowledge of preheat, interpass temperature, and weld defects, experience working to ADNOC or similar oil & gas specifications.
Years of ExperienceMinimum 5 years' experience in pressure vessel / heavy fabrication welding
