Tooling Technician; Aerostructure Manufacturing

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tooling Technician to join our production facility in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of critical aerospace tooling, including composite moulds, jigs, and CNC fixtures. This role is vital in ensuring that production meets stringent aerospace quality standards and delivery timelines.

• Tooling Maintenance & Improvement:
  Maintain and improve all tooling jigs, fixtures, composite tooling, and CNC fixtures. Ensure all tools are aligned with production requirements and customer specifications.
• Composite Repair:
  Evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair defects in composite tooling to ensure vacuum integrity and surface finish quality.
• Machining & Fabrication:
  Set up and operate a variety of metalworking machine tools, including lathes, vertical milling machines, saws, drills, belt/disk sanders, and grinders.
• Precision Measurement:
  Utilize precision measurement tools such as micrometres, callipers, and height gauges to verify tool dimensions and tolerances.
• Technical Documentation:
  Read and interpret complex customer drawings, blueprints, internal procedures, and technical manuals.
• Production Support:
  Work efficiently within a high-pressure environment to meet tight production targets and business objectives.
• Welding:
  Perform basic welding tasks as required for fixture repair or modification.

• Aerospace
  
  Experience:
  
  Minimum 1 year of hands‑on experience specifically within an aero structure manufacturing environment.
• Diploma / ITI / Technical Certification in Mechanical, Tool & Die, Aerospace, or related field.
• Materials Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of composite materials (Carbon Fibre, Fibreglass, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of aerospace metals (Aluminium, Titanium, and Stainless Steel).
• Tooling Expertise:
  Proven experience working with composite moulds, assembly jigs, and CNC work-holding fixtures.
• Blueprint Reading:
  Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is highly preferred.
• Language:
  Functional English (reading and speaking) is required for technical documentation and workplace safety.
