Overview

This position supervises day‑to‑day operations in the fabrication workshop to ensure optimal workflow, resource allocation, and compliance with quality and safety standards within the oil and gas sector.

• Supervise day-to-day operations in the fabrication workshop, ensuring optimal workflow and resource allocation.
• Interpret engineering drawings and fabrication blueprints.
• Plan, schedule, and allocate jobs to workshop personnel in accordance with project requirements.
• Ensure that all fabrication works—including cutting, welding, bending, and assembling—meet quality standards and specifications.
• Enforce strict compliance with HSE, Health, Safety, and Environment standards and ensure safe‑work practices are followed.
• Conduct routine inspections of workshop tools, machinery, and equipment to ensure operational readiness and initiate maintenance as needed.
• Provide technical guidance and training to workshop personnel.
• Monitor stock levels of fabrication materials (e.g., steel plates, pipes, welding rods) and coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.
• Maintain detailed records of work progress, labor, material usage, and job completion.
• Liaise with project engineers, QA/QC inspectors, and clients as required.
• Implement continuous improvement practices to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in fabrication work, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role within the oil and gas sector.
• Strong understanding of welding processes (MIG, TIG, SMAW), metal fabrication, and pipeline systems.
• Familiarity with API, ASME, and other relevant industry codes and standards.
• Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs.
• Working knowledge of HSE regulations and safe‑work practices in oil and gas environments.
• Relevant experience in pipeline, EPC, oil & gas, flowline, brownfield, upstream facilities, or wellhead projects.
• Preference for candidates with prior Gulf experience, especially those who have worked on ADNOC projects.
