Responsibilities
- Responsible for organizational repair maintenance of all communications equipment including Fixed Site Antennae Mast Group (FSAMG) and Tactical Site Interface Kit (TSIK) towers in support of Fire Units and Battalions.
- Provide technical assistance, sustainment refresher training, and technical advice to UAE military personnel, civilians, and authorized contractors under ITAR.
- Assist in the testing, maintenance, repair, configuration, and operation of all UHF/VHF radios, COMSEC, IP routers, servers, cabling, etc. within the Battalion FU area of operations.
- Coordinate maintenance repairs with battalion and CMF personnel.
- Provide expertise on communications planning for fixed‑site and tactical deployments.
- Responsible for Tower Mounted UHF/VHF equipment requiring certification as a Communications Tower Worker.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in repair, operation, and sustainment of UHF/VHF communication systems and networks.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of PATRIOT communication networks.
- Graduate of the Communications/Network Switching Repairer (MOS 25F/25U) course or an equivalent technical training program.
- Experience in troubleshooting, fault isolation, disassembly, repair, assembly, and checkout of communication/network switching systems.
- At least 1 year of network administration and operation experience with TCP/IP, VOIP, and fiber optic networks.
- Demonstrated skill in reading engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, using commercial test equipment, and common tools.
- Certification as a Communications Tower Worker (climb certification).
- General network knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP, Windows networking, and current military communications.
- Experience with Mobile Subscriber Equipment (MSE), Sunrise, Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radios, SINCGARS, Enhanced Position Location Reporting Systems (EPLRS), and GPS.
- Experience with tactical internet and satellite communications.
- Familiarity with Raytheon quality control procedures.
- Experience with Patriot refurbishment, modification, and system integration (SICO).
- Comprehensive planning skills, exceptional judgment, decision‑making skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and previous experience in International Patriot FMS Programs.
- Experience living and working in an overseas location.
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years related experience.
- Associate’s degree with 8 years related experience.
- High school Diploma/GED with 12 years related experience.
