As a Project Manager within Qualcomm’s IE‑IoT Business Unit, you will lead execution of complex, cross‑functional programs spanning industrial gateway platforms, robotics systems, and autonomous drone solutions. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and ecosystem teams to drive programs from concept through platform enablement and customer deployment, ensuring alignment across hardware, software, and connectivity domains.
This role requires strong program execution skills, technical depth in embedded/IoT systems, and the ability to manage multi‑disciplinary dependencies in a global matrixed environment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Lead end‑to‑end execution of IE‑IoT projects by partnering with engineering leads, product management, and business stakeholders to define project goals, priorities, and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans including scope definition, schedules, resource forecasts, milestone tracking, and risk management across hardware and software.
- Drive cross‑functional alignment and execution across platform bring‑up, SDK/BSP delivery, system integration, and ecosystem enablement.
- Define and track project health metrics aligned with key milestones such as features bring‑up, platform validation, certification readiness (e.g., FCC, CE, regulatory); drive corrective actions when execution deviates from plan.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including supply chain constraints, certification dependencies, and system integration challenges across robotics, drone, and industrial deployments.
- Provide clear and consistent communication of project status, risks, and mitigation plans to senior leadership (Director/VP level) and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate decision‑making and issue resolution across cross‑functional teams; elevate critical issues with data‑driven recommendations.
- Establish and improve project management processes, tools, and best practices to scale execution across the IE‑IoT portfolio.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of program/project management experience in embedded systems, IoT, telecommunications, or semiconductor domains.
- Minimum overall experience equivalent to: 3+ years project management with bachelor’s; 5+ years with associate’s; 7+ years with high school diploma. (Advanced degrees may substitute for up to two years of work experience.)
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Administration.
- PMP, Agile, or equivalent program management certification.
- 5+ years of experience managing complex hardware/software integrated programs.
- Experience with SoC‑based platforms, embedded Linux, or edge computing systems.
- Prior experience managing programs with global cross‑functional teams.
- Experience with program financials, resource planning, and budgeting.
- Familiarity with industrial IoT protocols (MQTT, OPC‑UA, Modbus) and platforms (Yocto, Linux).
- Exposure to platform bring‑up cycles, SDK/BSP releases, and system validation workflows.
- Understanding of regulatory and certification frameworks (FCC/CE, IEC 62443).
