Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling:
Develop and manage detailed production plans and schedules to ensure the timely delivery of vessels and marine projects. Coordinate with design, engineering, and procurement teams to align production activities with project timelines and milestones. Monitor project progress and proactively address delays, bottlenecks, and resource constraints.Team Leadership & Workforce Management:
Lead, supervise, and motivate production teams including welders, fabricators, carpenters, electricians, and fit-out crews. Allocate manpower effectively to ensure optimal productivity and skill utilization across multiple projects. Monitor workforce performance, resolve operational issues, and support employee development and training initiatives.Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Oversee quality control processes to ensure all vessels and marine structures meet company standards and industry regulations. Conduct regular inspections throughout the production cycle and implement corrective actions where necessary. Ensure compliance with applicable marine standards and certifications including ISO, ABS, DNV, and other relevant requirements.Resource Inventory Management:
Manage the availability and utilization of materials, tools, equipment, and production resources. Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely sourcing and replenishment of materials. Optimize resource allocation to minimize waste, improve efficiency, and control operational costs.Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance:
Enforce health, safety, and environmental policies in accordance with applicable regulations and company standards. Lead safety briefings, inspections, and incident investigations. Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance across all production activities.Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve production processes, increase efficiency, and reduce operational costs. Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor production performance metrics and recommend process enhancements.Stakeholder Project Coordination:
Collaborate closely with project managers, naval architects, marine engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved. Provide regular production status reports, risk assessments, and performance updates to senior management. Support project planning, scheduling, and execution activities to meet client expectations.Budgeting & Cost Control:
Monitor production budgets, labor costs, and resource expenditures. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and operational effectiveness. Assist in preparing cost estimates and resource requirements for new-build and repair projects.Technical Support:
Provide technical guidance on construction methods, materials selection, and production best practices. Troubleshoot production challenges and recommend practical solutions. Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction plans to ensure accurate execution.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in Production Management, Lean Manufacturing, Project Management, or Quality Management are an advantage.
- Experience:
Minimum 8–12 years of experience in production, manufacturing, shipbuilding, boat building, or marine construction environments. At least 3–5 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory production leadership role. Proven experience managing vessel construction, marine fabrication, or related industrial projects. - Skills &
