Overview & Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Machinist to join our team at our new mechanical manufacturing facility in the KEZAD Free Zone, Abu Dhabi
. This role is critical to our expansion and focuses on the high-precision repair and maintenance of turbo machinery rotating equipment, including steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, and pumps
.

As a senior technical member of the workshop, you will perform complex layouts, setups, and both manual and CNC machining tasks. We are looking for a professional who can operate with minimal supervision, oversee production quality, and mentor other employees on all departmental functions and processes.

Job Responsibilities

The CNC Machinist is responsible for the end-to-end manufacturing and assembly process, ensuring every component meets rigorous engineering specifications.

Machining & Technical Operations
  • Comprehensive Machining: Perform all required layout, complex setups, manual machining, and CNC machining on both ferrous and non-ferrous materials
    .

  • Equipment Mastery: Adeptly operate vertical and horizontal lathes, milling machines, turrets, and grinders.

  • Advanced CNC Operation: Operate CNC mills and lathes by entering instructions (including zero and reference points), setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.

  • Setup Excellence: Install and adjust three- and four-jaw chucks
    , tools, attachments, collets,
    bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers
    ; perform indicating vices and tramming heads
    .

  • Tooling Management: Recognize, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling. Sharpen and replace worn tools as required.

  • Production Tasks: Execute drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing,
    knurling, and thread chasing operations.

Planning, Assembly & Quality Control
  • Technical Planning: Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and orthographic drawings
    ; interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).

  • Inspection & Verification: Conduct dimensional inspections
    , verify settings by measuring positions, and check first-run and sample work pieces against international standards.

  • Assembly & Finishing: Perform subassembly, tool setting, deburring of parts, and final assembly of components according to specifications.

  • Programming: Prove part programs and calculate requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry
    .

Leadership, Maintenance & Safety
  • Supervision & Training: Plan and oversee work with minimal supervision while directing and training other employees on all workshop processes.

  • Preventive Maintenance: Maintain equipment by completing PM requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions.

  • Process Improvement: Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend modifications for increased efficiency and production adaptability.

  • Documentation: Maintain continuity between shifts by documenting actions, irregularities, and quality logs.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in a mechanical manufacturing or repair environment.

  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in G-Code programming and execution.

    • Extensive experience in manual machining (highly desired).

    • Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings, reference planes, and locations of surfaces.

  • Core Competencies:

    • Proficiency in basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.

    • Ability to lift stock into position and manage feed mechanisms.

    • Commitment to maintaining a personal inventory of basic tooling for routine setups.

  • Professionalism: A strong commitment to safety, quality, and professional conduct at all times.

  • Leadership: Ability to accept ownership for new requests and explore opportunities to add value to the organization.

Base Location & Work Schedule

This is a full time, on-site permanent position based out of our Repair Facility in KEZAD Free Zone, Abu Dhabi.
