Technician - Finishing

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance overhauling activities of the Finishing Section throughout the plant with high proficiency, quality and maximum safety.
• Implement production optimization.
• Execute all scheduled corrective maintenance and major repairs of the equipment to optimize production and minimize plant downtime.
• Facilitate corrective action.
• Responsible for troubleshooting during shutdowns of mechanical equipment and assist in finding the root cause for corrective action.
• Prevent system abnormalities and attend mechanical maintenance problems during shutdowns.
• Communicate abnormalities to superiors for planning and rectifying issues.
• Check equipment availability of tools and tackles.
• Meet engineering safety principles.
• Inspect equipment to meet engineering principles and safety regulations in the Finishing Section.
• Assist and support the Senior Technician Workshop in all technical areas to ensure smooth maintenance during shutdowns.
• Act as Senior Technician in the absence of the Senior Technician or as required by the Section.
• Follow mechanical maintenance standards for all equipment in Workshop Finishing.
• Observe HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) practices and follow relevant policies and procedures.

• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance of a steel plant as a Technician/Fitter.
• Technical knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge and skill of troubleshooting mechanical problems.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and hydraulic circuits.
