Rotating Equipment Technician

Carry out repair, maintenance and inspection activities for rotating equipment in the workshop and at customer sites while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Job Responsibilities- Maintain and care for all equipment, tooling and machines used.
- Work independently and assist other technicians in the strip down, clean, inspect, repair and assembly of various types of rotating equipment.
- Strip down and rebuild compressors, steam turbines and pumps.
- Perform detailed inspection of all removed parts, including dimensional checks, runout measurement, residual magnetism verification, ERO inspection on burnishing areas, and visual inspection of all components.
- Clearance checks for aforementioned equipment.
- Record repair work, inventory parts and inform Supervisor of new parts required.
- Ensure that all work has been completed, inspected and signed off before passing on the next operation.
- Ensure that the work area remains a clean and safe working environment and contributes to the company performance against the annual QHSE plan.
- Proficient.
- Use of various hand tools for maintenance of equipment.
- Understanding of cleaning and preservation.
- QC understanding of dimensional check and precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings for all rotating equipment.
- Knowledge of maintenance of rotating equipment.
- Basic understanding of the use of high‑pressure hydraulic tooling.
- Basic mechanical understanding with all or some of the following: geometrical and dimensional checks, visual inspection of rotating equipment.
- Knowledge and ability to operate various rotating equipment special tools.
- Good knowledge of all associated codes and regulations dealing with rotating equipment.
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Basic Microsoft software knowledge covering Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Basic mathematics skills.
- Basic understanding of rotor concentricity checks and NDT.
- Minimum 5 to 8 years previous experience.
- Demonstrate advanced skills in compressor and steam turbine repairs.
- ITI in Mechanical Fitters + NCVT.
- Diploma in mechanical discipline preferred, although not essential.
- Light physical effort.
- Sufficient physical ability to work in a workshop environment.
- May require travel across the Middle East and GCC countries.
