We are looking for an Assistant Utility Technician to join our Engineering team. Built on our core pillars of "Health for Generations," "Respect for Planet," and "Powered by People," this role supports the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of factory utility systems while safeguarding worker health, environmental compliance, and plant energy efficiency. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES RESPECT FOR PLANET- Operate and monitor the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), conducting wastewater parameter testing and precise chemical dosing to protect local ecosystems.
- Operate and support the Reverse Osmosis (RO) water treatment plant, boiler, and ammonia refrigeration systems while ensuring efficient and compliant utility operations.
- Follow strict Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) procedures, utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and support food safety standards to preserve employee and consumer health.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic technical environment by participating in risk assessments, permit‑to‑work activities, and reporting hazards/near misses promptly.
- Collaborate with Engineering and cross‑functional teams, reporting operational abnormalities and sharing key parameter data transparently.
- Demonstrate dependability, proactive problem‑solving, and continuous learning to support team reliability and operational performance.
- Operate and troubleshoot ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, and air compressors.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities according to daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance schedules.
- Monitor and record utility equipment performance and operating parameters, and conduct water and wastewater quality testing.
- Support process improvements to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Maintain spare parts and consumable inventory to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, HSE requirements, and food safety standards.
- Education: Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, Utilities, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in industrial utilities, equipment maintenance, or manufacturing operations.
- Technical Expertise: Experience with utility systems including refrigeration (ammonia preferred), boilers, air compressors, water treatment, and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP).
- Safety & Sustainability Focus: Strong commitment to HSE procedures, safety culture ("Powered by People"), and environmental compliance ("Respect for Planet").
- Operational
Skills:
Preventive maintenance scheduling, water testing, chemical dosing adjustments, and inventory management. - Operational Flexibility: Flexibility to work in rotational shifts across plant operations and comfortable working in indoor/outdoor industrial environments.
- Competencies: Troubleshooting, analytical and problem‑solving skills, equipment maintenance planning, dependability, positive safety attitude, strong attention to detail, the ability to remain effective in a fast‑paced operational environment.
