Must Have Steel Industry Experience Minimum Education Qualification (Education Degree)
Technical School
Any preferred professional training- Knowledge of various types of welding (Arc welding, MIG, TIG welding, copper welding and stainless steel welding) & gas cutting.
- Knowledge of development & fabrication related work.
- Knowledge and use of dye penetrate test for crack identification.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and Welding symbols.
- Ability to take site measurements, perform marking, making templates, grinding, ability to use common machines e.g. hydraulic press, jacks, plate & pipe bending & shearing machines etc.
- Exposure to computer soft skills
- 7-8 years experience in Mechanical maintenance of Steel Plant as a Sr. Technician (Fabrication / Welding)
- 5 Years experience as a Technician (fabrication) / Welder in heavy industry
To execute all scheduled corrective maintenance and major repairs of the equipments in order to optimise production & minimize down time for quality of fabrication & Ironworks.
Prompt Problem Solving:Responsible for attending Iron works related problems during breakdowns in the plant for defined quality standards of fabrication & Ironworks.
Providing Tools, Techniques and Solutions:Responsible for preparation of tools and tackles on and before the schedule job execution, communicate any abnormalities found during the execution of job.
Audit and Investigation:Inspection of equipments to meet engineering principles and safety regulations in defined quality standards of fabrication & Ironworks.
Maintenance Support:To assist the Supervisor Workshop – Ironworks in all fabrication areas to ensure smooth maintenance of the plant for uninterrupted production and co-ordination with other departments.
Implementing Standards:Follow and maintain defined standards of quality of fabrication & Ironworks related to the job during the shutdown to ensure machine safety and to avoid accidents and hazards
Policies and Procedures Management:To follow all relevant safety, quality, health and environmental management policies, procedures defined for quality standards of fabrication & Ironworks.
Supervision:To lead a group of Technicians / Welders (instruction and guidance to Technician / Welder) and participate in fabrication & Ironworks related activities in shutdown.
To act as Supervisor in absence of Supervisor or as when required by Section.
