Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work orders. Measure, mark, cut, bend, and shape GI sheets using hand tools and fabrication machines.
Operate equipment such as:
- Press Brake
- Pittsburgh Lock Machine
- Beading Machine
- Flanging Machine
- Rolling Machine
- Spot Welding Machine (where applicable)
Assemble duct sections, fittings, elbows, reducers, transitions, and other HVAC duct components while installing locks, seams, flanges, corners, and reinforcements according to approved specifications. Verify dimensions to ensure fabricated ductwork meets design tolerances and quality standards, and inspect finished products for accuracy and defects before dispatch. Follow daily and weekly production schedules, maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, and report any faults promptly.
Ensure the proper handling and storage of GI sheets and finished duct sections while adhering to workplace safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized work area, minimize material waste through efficient use of raw materials, assist with packing and loading finished ductwork for delivery when required, and collaborate with supervisors, quality inspectors, and production staff to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
