About the RoleAs a Senior Technician in the Machine Shop at Gate 2 within our Aviation & Aero Engine MRO division, you will apply your expert machinist skills to perform a diverse range of precision machining tasks. This includes grinding, drilling, tapping, reaming, extraction of broken screws, Heli-coil installation, milling, and other mechanical operations on aircraft and engine components. You will ensure strict compliance with technical manuals and company standards, maintaining the highest levels of quality, safety, and operational excellence in a fast-paced, full-time role.
YourResponsibilities
- Machining Expertise (70%):
Independently operate conventional machines such as horizontal and vertical lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, universal cylindrical grinders, and tool & cutter grinders. Program and operate advanced CNC machines including Doosan and Toshulin CNC VTLs, Spinner CNC horizontal lathe, Deckel CNC milling, CNC EDM, and 5-axis CNC milling machines. Perform precision machining on aircraft parts such as landing gear lugs and bush installation. - Quality Control (10%):
Inspect and promptly release completed tasks, ensuring adherence to stringent quality standards and specifications. - Safety and Compliance (10%):
Enforce company quality, safety, health, and environmental regulations to maintain a secure and compliant work environment. - Maintenance and Tool Calibration (5%):
Maintain a clean and organized work area, oversee equipment maintenance, and ensure precise tool calibration. - Continuous Improvement (5%):
Contribute proactively to process enhancements, suggest innovative machining techniques, and pursue growth through internal and external training opportunities.
We seek a qualified machinist with an associate, vocational, or technical degree relevant to machining and a D2 level authorization in machine shop practices. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of progressive aviation industry experience demonstrating mastery in operating both conventional and CNC machines. You should possess strong skills in interpreting complex engineering drawings, precision instrumentation, and executing mechanical tasks such as drilling, tapping, and Heli-coil installation.
Excellent communication skills in English, a commitment to safety and compliance, and a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and professional development are essential.
This full-time position reports directly to the Manager, Senior Supervisor, or Supervisor within the Special Process section of Gate 2. As an internal candidate, you will have opportunities to leverage existing company resources for training and development. You will be expected to uphold our company’s rigorous safety, quality, and environmental standards while contributing your expertise to ongoing process improvements. Collaboration within the Machine Shop and broader Aviation & Aero Engine MRO team is encouraged to drive operational excellence and innovation.
