Metallurgy Technician

GEX Auto – Gulf Extrusion Automotive & Industries is looking for a Metallurgy Technician to join our team and support metallurgical testing, quality control, and process improvement within our aluminium manufacturing operations.

• Conduct chemical, mechanical, and metallographic testing of aluminium samples.
• Perform spectrometer, hardness, tensile, conductivity, and microstructure testing.
• Verify alloy composition against product specifications.
• Investigate defects such as porosity, inclusions, cracks, and surface imperfections.
• Support root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives.
• Record, analyze, and report laboratory and production test results.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory testing equipment.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, ASTM, customer, and company quality standards.
• Follow all HSE requirements and maintain a safe laboratory and production environment.

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in aluminum manufacturing, extrusion, casting, foundry, rolling mill, or similar industries.
• Knowledge of aluminum alloys, casting processes, heat treatment, and metallurgical testing.
• Familiarity with ASTM, ISO, and aluminum industry standards.
• Experience with spectrometers, hardness testers, UTM, and metallographic equipment.

• Strong knowledge of aluminum metallurgy and alloy characteristics.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret metallurgical test results and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
