Must Have Steel Industry Experience
Minimum Education Qualifications (Must Haves)
- Diploma/ ITI
Preferred professional training (Nice to have)
- Diploma/ ITI
- In-depth technical knowledge of refractory applications and problem solving
Experience Recommended (Nice to have)
- Around 3-5 Years in a Steel Plant as a Brick Layer/Mason
- Around 5-8 Years with a mini steel plant having a EAF/LF/CCM production route
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Accountabilities)
- Carries out duties assigned by the Supervisor, according to production requirements.
- Ensures sufficient availability of machinery, consumables and tools required for Refractory work.
- Ensures the lining of vessels meant for hot applications are done with utmost care and as per the work instructions and guidance given by the Supervisor.
- In case of any abnormalities observed during execution of work, inform the Supervisor, and seek guidance.
- Ensures that all safety precautions in the machine being used for refractory applications are in place, abiding by the Company safety policy and regulations.
- Ensures that work area is maintained clean and free of any obstacles or encumbrances.
- Ensures the effective implementation of operational policies covering all areas of the refractory work so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled, while delivering a cost–effective quality product to SMP1 Operation.
In case of an emergency, cooperates with the Supervisor and acts in accordance with the operational procedures/work instructions.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- To impart training for new employees.
- To coordinate with Crane Operators and the EAF and CC sections, to ensure that the intended service is being provided.
- To coordinate with EAF/LRF and CC on a regular basis, to optimise the productivity of the Plant.

Planning, organizing and coordinating amongst the team to carry out the lining of ladle, EAF and tundish effectively.
