- Precisely set up and operate manual and CNC lathes to produce high-quality metal components according to complex blueprints and specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure adherence to strict engineering standards.
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds to achieve desired material removal rates and surface finishes on various metals.
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational training program in machining is highly preferred.
- Possession of relevant certifications such as NIMS (National Institute for Metalworking Skills) is a significant advantage.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience operating manual and CNC lathes in a manufacturing setting.
- Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.
