Based at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi within the Sales and Marketing Department, the Director of Commercial Strategy is responsible for achieving targeted goals defined in the Marketing plan. The role focuses on the hotel’s national and international key accounts and reports to the General Manager.

• The hotel achieves its financial objectives.
• The sales team achieves their revenue objectives.
• The Director personally achieves their objectives.
• Marketing activities are created, planned, coordinated and implemented.
• Supports Talent Development initiatives and initiates training, cross‑exposure and task force assignments.
• Recruits and selects potential talent for the department.

• Supervises preparation and definition of marketing plan and manual for the department.
• Determines corporate/travel trade marketing and sales strategy related to pricing and promotion.
• Handles budgets for sales activities and promotions.
• Monitors sales and marketing results and proposes corrective actions.
• Maintains utilization of automated sales and reservation systems.
• Ensures follow‑up on all leads and generates group or individual leads.
• Maintains permanent files for corporate, group and travel trade accounts.
• Updates reservation centre information and coordinates insertions.
• Studies competitor hotels and proposes promotional materials.
• Proposes group and individual reservation requests.
• Sets up corporate rates for local and international companies.
• Collaborates with local and overseas customers and maintains customer database system.
• Communicates hotel developments to management and customers.
• Coordinates promotional activities with sales and F&B.
• Ensures quality of guest/group satisfaction with other departments.
• Participates in trade shows, fairs, exhibitions and sales blitzes.
• Monitors group and travel agency rates and informs regional sales offices.
• Determines overall marketing campaign ROI and reviews response rates.
• Develops hotel marketing budget and maintains control.

• Develops, plans, implements, monitors and evaluates marketing activities.
• Positions Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental as a premier luxury hotel.
• Focuses marketing activities to yield maximum revenue.
• Identifies business sources and sets marketing priorities.
• Implements strategies for different market segments.
• Analyzes hotel capabilities and identifies advertising and PR programs.
• Develops and implements the annual marketing plan.
• Monitors market trends and responds as needed.
• Aligns marketing programs with the brand image.
• Installs marketing office procedures and ensures compliance.
• Prepares, monitors and controls advertising and promotion budget.

• Monitors and identifies business trends to ensure profitable sales.
• Coordinates and implements Yield Management program.
• Ensures accuracy of bookings and contracted accounts.
• Defines sales strategy with Revenue Director and Sales Director.
• Optimizes revenue per available room.
• Ensures quality of reservation delivery.
• Motivates reservation team through the Director of Revenue & Reservations.
