Responsibilities
- Prepares clinical and progress notes, coordinates services, works as liaison between treating physician and other personnel of changes in the client’s condition and family members.
- Counsels the clients and family in meeting nursing and related needs, participates in in‑service programs, and supervises and teaches other nursing personnel.
- Monitors and records vital signs and reports to the treating physicians for abnormal values.
- Administers prescribed medications.
- Monitors intravenous infusions and parenteral therapies.
- Provides care for clients with tracheostomy, gastrostomy and colostomy.
- Performs nursing care for clients with pacemaker, peritoneal dialysis, and clients on ventilator.
- Delivers nursing care of clients with hemiplegic, paraplegic, Bell’s palsy, cerebral palsy, terminally ill, and elderly patients.
- Cares for newborns, pre‑ and post‑partum mothers.
- Cares for clients who are physically challenged and those who need special care at home or at their educational facility.
- Delivers simple exercises, helps in ambulation and accompanies clients to social gatherings, hospitals, other treatment facilities, and outdoors.
- Cares for the patient’s wound to prevent the exacerbation of pressure ulcers.
- Reports and records medical events, procedures and other medical parameters.
- Maintains records of patient care, condition, progress, and problems to report and discuss observations with a supervisor, case manager, or medical doctor.
- Education
:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing in home country; critical‑care qualification. - Essential training
:
Active Basic Life Support training; pediatric qualification (for pediatrics RN); ACLS (for adult patients); PALS (for pediatric patients); teaching and assessing. - Experience
: 2 to 5 years working experience as RN. - Certification and Licensure
:
Current valid registration in country of training and/or country of last employment; eligible for DOH / DHA / MOH licensing. - Job Specific Knowledge and Skills
:
Homecare & clinical skills, bedside manner, infection control, nursing skills, physiological knowledge, administering medication, medical teamwork, multi‑tasking, listening, verbal communication, health promotion and maintenance; able to speak Arabic.
