Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and offer advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.
- Assess and identify patients’ needs; implement and monitor the patient’s medical plan and treatment in collaboration with physicians and other health‑care specialists.
- Perform systematic patient assessment, re‑assessment, and collect pertinent data about the patient’s health or situation.
- Analyze assessment information and data to determine actual and potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and issues.
- Define the predicted and expected outcomes of the patient’s planned care.
- Create and evaluate patient care plans with the inter‑professional team, collaborating with the patient and patient’s bystanders.
- Record vital signs and promptly recognize, address, and, if necessary, escalated abnormalities.
- Maintain and update technical and clinical skills related to nursing practice.
- Employ strategies to promote patients’ health and a safe environment.
- Understand various diagnostic tests and laboratory examinations.
- Provide essential life support as required by regulatory requirements and scope, such as Basic Life Support.
- Prepare patients for medical examination and treatment.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects and reactions.
- Administer treatments such as IV fluids or blood products and monitor patients for reactions.
- Provide wound care management.
- Assist in medical procedures, both invasive and non‑invasive, as needed.
- Facilitate the safe admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
- Support business continuity plans by maintaining essential nursing services during emergencies, following established protocols to ensure patient safety, and collaborating with the healthcare team to sustain operational effectiveness.
- Actively participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure competence in pain management.
- Essential qualifications and experiences
- Holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution in the home country.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, including recent assignment in ICU, Critical Care, long‑term care unit, or equivalent experience within Home‑care settings.
- Has an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority, with all required qualifications and experience already mandated.
- Manages professional re‑licensure.
- Holds a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
- Is willing to work across departments when necessary.
- Communicates clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written).
- Desirable qualifications
- Evidence of ability to work as part of an inter‑professional team.
- Organizational and administrative skills, including using an electronic medical record platform for clinical documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Arabic.
