Position OverviewA Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse is a highly skilled healthcare professional dedicated to providing specialized, life‑saving care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents. Working in a fast‑paced and high‑acuity environment, PICU nurses monitor complex conditions, operate advanced life‑support equipment, and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive, high‑quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in accordance with established clinical standards and protocols.
- Continuously monitor and assess patients’ vital signs, neurological status, and overall condition, promptly identifying and responding to changes.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and advanced life support interventions, including ventilation and cardiac monitoring.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Operate and manage specialized medical equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, and monitoring systems.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and progress.
- Support and educate patients’ families, providing clear communication and emotional reassurance during critical situations.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards to ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant regulatory body (e.g., DOH/DHA/MOH).
- Minimum of 2‑3 years of recent experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit or critical care setting.
