Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain anesthesia procedures and practices.
Work closely with operating theatre staff, hospital staff, department directors, and physicians to ensure the highest standards of quality and service are maintained.
Collaborate with anesthesia technicians and nurses.
Ensure efficient operation of anesthesia services.
Maintain an active privilege consistent with specialty scope, renewable every 2 years.
Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia and counteract adverse reactions or complications.
Record type and amount of anesthesia and patient condition throughout procedure.
Provide and maintain life support and airway management; prepare patients for emergency surgery.
Administer anesthetics or sedation using local, intravenous, spinal, caudal, or epidural methods; perform painless labour (epidural analgesia).
Examine patient, obtain medical history, and use diagnostic tests to determine risk during surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures.
Position patient on operating table to maximize comfort and surgical accessibility.
Coordinate administration of anesthetics with surgeons during operation.
Determine when patients have recovered or stabilized to be sent to another room, ward, or home following outpatient surgery; confer with other professionals to determine type and method of anesthetic or sedation.
Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures.
Inform students and staff of types/methods of anesthesia administration, signs of complications, and emergency responses.
Provide medical care and consultation in various settings, prescribe medication, treat, and refer patients for surgery.
Manage anesthesiological services, coordinate with other medical activities, and develop plans and procedures.
Perform regional anesthesia and nerve blocks with ultrasound guidance.
Instruct individuals/groups on ways to preserve health and prevent disease.
Coordinate and direct work of nurses, medical technicians, and other healthcare providers.
Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain anesthesia services policies and procedures.
Schedule and maintain use of surgical suite, including operating, wash‑up, waiting rooms, and anesthesia/sterilizing equipment.
Ensure smooth and effective functioning to provide quality and safe patient care.
Provide administrative oversight.
Ensure adequate staff with required qualifications, training, experience, privileging, equipment, and resources are available at all times.
Maintain necessary quality control program.
Education:
MBBS or MBChB or equivalent qualification from an accredited and recognized university.Specialty qualification as per recognized specialty certificate table.
License:
Active license in home country and an active DOH License consistent with specialty practiced at Bareen International Hospital.Experience:
More than 7 years’ experience post qualification.
