The Charge Nurse plays a pivotal role in the efficient and compassionate delivery of patient care within a dynamic healthcare environment. As a senior-level registered nurse, this individual is responsible for overseeing daily nursing operations, ensuring adherence to clinical standards, and fostering a collaborative, patient-centered care culture. The Charge Nurse leads a team of registered nurses and support staff, coordinates patient care activities, manages staffing schedules, and serves as a critical liaison between clinical teams, nursing leadership, and other healthcare professionals.

With a minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing experience and specialized expertise in pediatric care, this role demands clinical excellence, strong leadership, and a deep commitment to quality outcomes. The Charge Nurse is instrumental in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, supporting nurse recruitment and retention initiatives, and driving continuous improvement in patient safety and care delivery.

• Supervise and direct the daily operations of the nursing unit, ensuring seamless patient care delivery.
• Assign and monitor nursing staff to meet patient acuity and staffing requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clinical issues, emergencies, and interdepartmental coordination.
• Conduct shift handovers, review patient status, and ensure accurate documentation across all care records.
• Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to registered nurses and nursing staff.
• Implement and enforce hospital policies, infection control protocols, and patient safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with nurse practitioners and physicians to develop and adjust individualized patient care plans.
• Lead or support nurse recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts within the unit.
• Participate in quality improvement projects, root cause analyses, and compliance audits.
• Ensure all staff maintain current certifications, including BLS, ACLS, and specialty credentials such as Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN).

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• Active and valid license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the UAE.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or charge nurse capacity.
• Certification as a Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) or equivalent specialty credential.
• Proven experience in managing nursing teams, staffing, and workflow optimization.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, including DHA, HAAD, and MOHRE standards.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and clinical documentation.
• Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and decision‑making skills.
• Experience in nurse recruitment, training, and professional development initiatives.
• Ability to work in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
