Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women’s and children’s hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Women’s Health. The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full-fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE. This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral centre for women with high-risk pregnancies, supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.
The Healthcare Aide in the Medical-Surgical Unit provides essential support to nurses and other healthcare professionals in delivering safe, high-quality patient care. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Healthcare Aide assists with activities of daily living, monitors and reports patient needs, maintains a clean and safe environment, and helps ensure patient comfort and well-being. The role is vital in supporting the care of adult and geriatric patients recovering from medical conditions, surgery, or acute illnesses within an inpatient setting
Responsibilities- Obtain and document basic patient information, including vital signs, height, weight, and other observations as directed.
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms, ensuring necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Assist physicians and nurses during examinations, minor procedures, and treatments.
- Support patients with mobility needs and provide comfort measures when required.
- Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards in patient care areas.
- Clean, disinfect, and prepare medical equipment according to established protocols.
- Stock and monitor supplies, reporting shortages to the appropriate personnel.
- Escort patients to diagnostic services or other clinic areas as needed.
- Provide patients and families with basic information and reinforce instructions provided by clinicians.
- Document patient care activities accurately and promptly.
- Report patient concerns, symptoms, or changes in condition to the nursing team.
- Adhere to patient safety, confidentiality, and organizational policies.
- Certified Nursing Assistant or Diploma
