Animal Trainer - Royal Palace

Apt Resources is excited to announce a unique opportunity for an experienced Animal Trainer at the Royal Palace in Abu Dhabi. In this key role, you will be responsible for the training and behavioral management of various animals in the Royal Palace’s collection. You will collaborate closely with other animal care staff to ensure that all training goals are met and that the highest standards of animal welfare are maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design and implement training programs to promote desired behaviors for a diverse range of animals.
• Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to train animals and enhance their skills while ensuring their welfare.
• Develop and update training manuals, including progress reports and assessments for each animal.
• Conduct training sessions, including public demonstrations, and educate staff and visitors about animal care and training techniques.
• Monitor animal behavior and health, and collaborate with veterinary staff when necessary.
• Assist in the development of enrichment programs that encourage natural behaviors and enhance the animals’ welfare.
• Maintain detailed records of training sessions and animal progress.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in animal training, preferably with exotic species.
• A degree in Animal Science, Zoology, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong understanding of animal behavior and the principles of training methodologies.
• Excellent communication and teaching skills, with an emphasis on collaboration with staff and engaging with the public.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and handle animals safely and effectively.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
• Passion for animal welfare and dedication to conservation efforts.
