- Operate groundskeeping machinery, including mowers, tractors, irrigation systems, and other specialized equipment for turf care and landscaping.
- Ensure that machinery is used safely and in accordance with operational procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on all equipment, including routine inspections, cleaning, and reporting any faults or issues to the Grounds Deputy Manager.
- Perform minor repairs on equipment when necessary and arrange for professional service when required.
- Assist the grounds maintenance team in maintaining sports fields, including turf mowing, grass cutting, and ensuring the correct application of fertilizers, lime, and weed control products.
- Support irrigation systems, ensuring proper functionality and reporting any issues with water supply or distribution.
- Participate in turf care activities such as fertilization, aeration, and irrigation, ensuring the sports fields are kept in top condition.
- Ensure that grass is mowed to the correct height, and areas are kept neat and well-maintained, as per the established maintenance schedules.
- Carry out waste removal and ensure that the grounds are clean, including the proper disposal of cut grass, leaves, and other debris.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and procedures while operating machinery, ensuring personal and team safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A qualification in horticulture, grounds maintenance, or machinery operation is preferred.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in operating grounds maintenance machinery or similar equipment.
- Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or sports turf management is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with lawn mowers, tractors, irrigation systems, and other groundskeeping machinery.
- Experience with basic maintenance and repairs of machinery is an advantage.
- Proficient in operating a variety of grounds maintenance machinery, including mowers, tractors, and irrigation systems.
- Knowledgeable in basic maintenance and troubleshooting of groundskeeping equipment.
- Familiar with turf management techniques, including mowing, aeration, fertilization, and irrigation.
- Ability to work well as part of a team, supporting colleagues to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Dependable and punctual, ensuring tasks are completed on time and with minimal supervision.
