Material Controller
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Material Controller to join our project team. The role will be responsible for managing the receipt, storage, inspection, tracking, and distribution of materials throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong coordination and inventory management skills, with the ability to work closely with Project, Engineering, QA/QC, Procurement, and Client teams to ensure materials are available when and where required, in line with project schedules, quality requirements, and HSE standards.
PurposeThe purpose of a Material Controller is to ensure the efficient and effective management of materials within a project or organization, ensuring timely availability, accurate inventory records, proper documentation, and compliance with project requirements.
Job Responsibilities- Manage the receipt, storage, preservation, and distribution of client-supplied materials to ensure availability on-site as required.
- Coordinate with the QA/QC team for timely inspection of incoming materials to verify quality and compliance with project specifications.
- Analyse inventory data to identify material shortages, availability, and work-front requirements
. - Coordinate with the Client and Procurement teams to follow up on material deliveries and resolve any material-related discrepancies.
- Liaise with clients and relevant stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of materials in line with project schedules.
- Track material orders and maintain accurate documentation related to material deliveries, inspections, receipts, issuance, and transfers
. - Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, and Site Teams to forecast material requirements for upcoming project phases.
- Monitor material movement and ensure materials are issued to the correct work fronts as per approved requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date material registers, inventory records, and material tracking systems
. - Ensure proper identification, traceability, storage, and preservation of materials in accordance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to address material shortages, damages, discrepancies, and non-conformances
. - Ensure compliance with project procedures, quality requirements, HSE standards, and client specifications
. - Maintain data integrity and ensure all material-related records are accurate and properly controlled.
- Provide regular updates and reports on material status, availability, shortages, and outstanding deliveries

- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar Material Controller / Materials Management position.
- Experience in oil & gas, EPC, construction, fabrication, or industrial projects is preferred.
