Painting Inspector

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QA QC Inspector for Painting and Coating, responsible for overseeing inspection and quality control activities related to surface preparation, painting, and coating works.

• Inspect surface preparation activities including blasting, cleaning, and profiling prior to coating.
• Verify environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and dew point before and during painting activities.
• Ensure correct paint materials, batch numbers, and mixing procedures are followed as per specifications.
• Monitor the application of coatings, including DFT (Dry Film Thickness), WFT (Wet Film Thickness), and adhesion tests.
• Perform inspections for coating defects such as blistering, peeling, runs, pinholes, and corrosion.
• Ensure compliance with approved ITP, QCP, and project specifications.
• Coordinate with client inspectors, third‑party agencies, and class representatives for inspections and approvals.
• Maintain proper inspection reports, logs, and coating records as per project requirements.
• Ensure calibration and proper use of inspection instruments (DFT gauge, hygrometer, surface profile gauge, etc.).
• Monitor and control rework and repair activities to maintain quality standards.
• Ensure all activities comply with HSE standards and safe work practices.
• Support QA QC team in preparing final documentation and handover dossiers.

• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Materials, Coating, or related discipline.

• BGAS / NACE Level I or II (preferred).

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in painting and coating inspection within oil & gas, fabrication, or marine projects.

• Strong knowledge of surface preparation and coating systems.
• Familiarity with international standards (ISO, SSPC, NACE).
• Inspection and testing of coating thickness and quality.
• Good reporting and documentation skills.
• Coordination with clients and inspection teams.
