QC Inspector - Piping

Responsibilities

• Perform quality activities in accordance with quality management system established.
• Establish inspection and test plans and its record forms as per project requirements and international codes and standards.
• Carry out inspections on discipline responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements and recording its result.
• Ensure inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix.
• Managing and performing inspection of Piping discipline.
• Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) where required providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
• Prepare, review the following Quality procedure documents submitted by the Subcontractors such as Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and Material Approval Request (MAR).
• Approve the related inspection reports where inspection results are recorded.
• Control inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix.
• Set and apply practical inspection process of particular discipline based on Project requirements and International Codes, providing ITP and managing Matrix.
• Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and support preparation of Corrective Action Plan properly.
• Perform and coordinate inspection with client.
• Carry out QC Supervisor's responsibility in their absence.
• Control quality violations through regular toolbox talk with the construction team.
• Review and track material submittals required for Piping Definable Features of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings.
• Conduct Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors related to Piping Definable Features of Work.
• Inspect incoming material deliveries by confirming specifications and compliance with approved submittals.
• Conduct visual and measurement tests in conjunction with the onsite logistics team.
• Reject and facilitate the return of unacceptable materials.
• Ensure to apply lessons learnt and proper preventive action conducted.
• Review pre‑fabricated spool release welding history and perform inspections.
• Review and approval of Test Packages, line walk, punch preparation and Hydro test inspection.
• Monitor RT backlog as per project requirements.

• Minimum education level:
  Diploma in engineering;
  Certificate related to Piping disciplines.
• Experience:
  
  From project start to completion.
• Knowledge:
  Technical knowledge and familiar with related international codes and standards in particular discipline.
• Ability to check that suitable and appropriate inspection and test tools are used.
• Investigate and analyze nonconformities and observations and figure out solutions.
• Capability of planning and controlling inspections for medium scale project (0.5~1.5 billion dollar).
• Manage to anticipate inter‑related discipline outcome to minimize reworks.
• Ability to use measuring and testing equipment.
