Overview
Quality Coating Inspector and Quality Coating Supervisor for a long-term Oil & Gas onshore project in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Responsible for surface preparation, coating application, inspection, and quality control activities in accordance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.
Responsibilities- Quality Coating Inspector
- Perform inspection of surface preparation, coating application, and painting activities.
- Verify compliance with project specifications, approved procedures, and quality standards.
- Conduct and document inspections including visual inspection, DFT measurement, surface profile measurement, environmental monitoring, adhesion testing, and holiday testing.
- Review coating materials, batch numbers, storage conditions, and application procedures.
- Prepare inspection reports, quality records, and non-conformance reports as required.
- Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, and client representatives during inspections.
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements during coating activities.
- Quality Coating Supervisor
- Supervise coating and painting activities at site.
- Ensure workforce compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, and work procedures.
- Monitor productivity, workmanship, and quality of coating operations.
- Coordinate with QA/QC, construction, and client teams to resolve technical issues.
- Ensure proper utilization of equipment, materials, and manpower.
- Review inspection reports and ensure timely closure of punch points and NCRs.
- Support project management in achieving quality and schedule targets.
- Promote safe work practices and adherence to HSE standards.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, EPC, or Onshore projects.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation, protective coatings, and painting systems.
- Familiarity with international standards such as SSPC, NACE/AMPP, ISO, and ASTM.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and inspection procedures.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector Certification (Level 1/2/3) or equivalent.
- BGAS-CSWIP Grade 2 or equivalent (preferred).
- Relevant QA/QC certifications.
- Valid HSE training certificates will be an advantage.
