Position: Coating Inspector / QC Supervisor - Coating

Overview

Quality Coating Inspector and Quality Coating Supervisor for a long-term Oil & Gas onshore project in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Responsible for surface preparation, coating application, inspection, and quality control activities in accordance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Quality Coating Inspector
  • Perform inspection of surface preparation, coating application, and painting activities.
  • Verify compliance with project specifications, approved procedures, and quality standards.
  • Conduct and document inspections including visual inspection, DFT measurement, surface profile measurement, environmental monitoring, adhesion testing, and holiday testing.
  • Review coating materials, batch numbers, storage conditions, and application procedures.
  • Prepare inspection reports, quality records, and non-conformance reports as required.
  • Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, and client representatives during inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE requirements during coating activities.
  • Quality Coating Supervisor
  • Supervise coating and painting activities at site.
  • Ensure workforce compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, and work procedures.
  • Monitor productivity, workmanship, and quality of coating operations.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC, construction, and client teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Ensure proper utilization of equipment, materials, and manpower.
  • Review inspection reports and ensure timely closure of punch points and NCRs.
  • Support project management in achieving quality and schedule targets.
  • Promote safe work practices and adherence to HSE standards.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, EPC, or Onshore projects.
  • Strong knowledge of surface preparation, protective coatings, and painting systems.
  • Familiarity with international standards such as SSPC, NACE/AMPP, ISO, and ASTM.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and inspection procedures.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
Certifications
  • NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector Certification (Level 1/2/3) or equivalent.
  • BGAS-CSWIP Grade 2 or equivalent (preferred).
  • Relevant QA/QC certifications.
  • Valid HSE training certificates will be an advantage.
