The Airworthiness Officer (AWO) reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and monitors and processes all airworthiness functions within the Etihad Quality department. The AWO produces periodic reports on engineer status, line‑station approvals, and other airworthiness matters as directed by the QA managers.
Responsibilities- Accepts, reviews, and processes all Etihad company authorisations, ensuring accurate completion of applications and scheduling monthly QA Board meetings. Prepares authorisations for final review and signature by the QA manager.
- Manages the authorisations database, keeping all data current and accurate, and notifies holders of any impending licence invalidation to allow timely renewal.
- Ensures that any manual or document request has undergone the correct approval process before publication and that quality control of layout, format and content meets the Safety & Quality Management System requirements and regulatory standards.
- Prepares statistics for Safety Review Board meetings, Post‑Holder Meetings, Safety Action Groups, and Monthly Safety Statistics.
- Prepares reports on a period defined by HQA‑T or the relevant QA manager, covering MEL extensions, one‑off approvals, certifying staff authorisation status, and notifies the GCAA and concerned departments.
- Manages applications for issuance and renewal of GCAA and other regulatory authority AMO approvals, coordinating with third parties such as EY Eng and Finance to compile accurate financial requirements.
- Manages third‑party operator approvals and NAA applications, extensions, and the line‑station technical handling maintenance organisation list along with NAA and customer requirements.
- Manages and controls the quality‑management database (including AMOS and INTELEX), ensuring all airworthiness data is current and accurate, monitoring future due dates.
- Manages engineers’ licences and QA company authorisations, overseeing qualifications and training databases (AMOS) for all engineers. Handles acceptance processes, reviews GCAA licence requirements, liaises with applicants to ensure accurate applications, communicates examination dates, resolves application rejections, and facilitates requisitions for licence‑related funds.
- University degree.
- Minimum of 7 years airline industry experience, including at least 2 years in quality assurance handling engineer licences, company authorisations, airworthiness documentation, or equivalent.
