Job Title
Specialist QA/QC Engineer
LocationAbu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Initially at the Client or Contractors Office, later at the Fabrication Yard during the EPC phase.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in line with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Prepare and review quality plans, procedures, inspection test plans (ITPs), and method statements.
- Ensure adherence to internal and external quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct internal audits and assist in external audits and certification processes.
- Promote a quality culture and continuous improvement within the organization.
- Monitor and inspect ongoing work to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Review and approve material submittals and ensure conformity with project requirements.
- Conduct inspections, tests, and verifications at various project stages.
- Identify non‑conformities and ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented.
- Maintain accurate inspection and test records.
- Prepare QA/QC reports, inspection reports, NCRs, and audit findings.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure proper documentation flow and approvals.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams regarding quality‑related matters.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on quality performance.
- Support engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure quality compliance.
- Identify quality risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental (HSE), and regulatory standards.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant discipline).
- Minimum 15–20+ years of experience in QA/QC roles, with industry experience in construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects preferred.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards and regulations.
- Knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to audit, inspect, and enforce quality compliance.
- Familiarity with QA/QC tools, testing methods, and inspection procedures.
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent
- NDT certifications, if applicable
- Membership in recognized engineering bodies (e.g., ASQ, PMI)
- ISO 45001 certification
- Expertise in risk assessment techniques (HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, etc.).
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis capabilities.
