Perform inspection and surveillance of welding and coating activities at site in line with approved ITPs and project specifications. Review WPS, PQR and welder qualifications prior to welding activities. Monitor welding processes, fit-ups, joint preparations and consumables. Conduct visual inspections of welds and coordinate with NDT personnel for testing activities.
Carry out coating inspections including surface preparation, painting and final coating checks. Verify blasting profiles, DFT measurements and environmental conditions. Ensure compliance with international standards such as ISO, ASTM, ASME and project‑specific requirements. Maintain proper inspection records and documentation – reports, logs, checklists. Raise NCRs for non‑conformances and follow up on corrective actions.
Coordinate with client representatives, contractors and third‑party inspectors. Ensure HSE compliance at all times during inspection activities.
Qualifications & Certifications- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- CSWIP 3.1 or AWS - CWI Welding Inspector Certification (MUST).
- BGAS Grade 2 or NACE Level II Coating Inspector Certification (MUST).
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in welding and coating inspection.
- Strong experience in oil & gas industry projects.
- ADNOC project experience preferred.
- Familiarity with EPC projects and site‑based inspection work.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes and coating systems.
- Good understanding of international codes and standards (ASME, AWS, ISO, SSPC, NACE).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Attention to detail and problem‑solving mindset.
