We at Emarat Aloula Contracting are seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector – Welding, Coating, and Painting to support major Water Transmission Utility and Infrastructure Projects in the UAE.
Key Responsibilities- Material inspection of Carbon Steel and Ductile Iron pipes, fittings, valves, FBE/3
LPE coated materials, HDPE, PVC ducts, and welding consumables; review Material Test Certificates (MTCs) and ensure compliance with approved ITPs, Method Statements, and project specifications. - Welding inspection: witness and monitor Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and Welder Qualification Tests (WQT); perform fit‑up and visual inspection of welds and tie‑in joints; ensure compliance with API 1104, ASME B31.4, and project specifications.
- Coating inspection: inspect surface preparation, abrasive blasting, FBE/3
LPE, and field joint coating activities; witness qualification of sandblasters and painters; verify coating thickness, holiday testing, repairs, and final acceptance. - NDT coordination: prepare NDT requests and coordinate with approved subcontractors; witness and review RT, UT, PAUT, MPI, and DPI activities and reports; monitor weld repairs and ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
- Pipeline testing and quality documentation: witness hydrostatic testing, flushing, and final inspection activities; prepare Work Inspection Requests (WIR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR), Weld Reports, NDT Reports, Coating Reports, Pipe Books, Punch Lists, and Final Walk‑down Reports; maintain quality records and ensure timely submission to the consultant and client.
- Quality assurance: monitor weld repair rates in accordance with project KPIs; verify approved materials, calibrated inspection equipment, storage and preservation requirements, approved drawings, and qualified subcontractor personnel; coordinate daily with construction teams, consultants, and clients to ensure full compliance with project quality requirements.
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- ASNT/PCN LevelII certification in applicable NDT methods:
Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI). - CSWIP
3.1 Welding Inspector certification. - BGAS and/or NACE Coating Inspector certification.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant UAE/GCC experience in QA/QC inspection for Carbon Steel Pipeline projects.
- Proven experience in Carbon Steel & Ductile Iron pipelines, Welding inspection, Coating inspection (FBE, 3
LPE & Field Joint), Pipeline installation, Hydrostatic testing, NDT coordination & review. - Experience working on projects with TAQA, TRANSCO, ADDC, ADWEA, ADNOC or similar utility clients is highly preferred.
