Responsibilities
- Conduct independent compliance and assurance audits on coverage of all LTIs in the previous year.
- Audit coverage of selected HPNM samples.
- Audit coverage of selected SOP TRA audits.
- Verify fatality action plans.
- Audit selected closed Near Miss cases and PTW quality verification.
- Sample‑based systematic audit of the overall PTW system.
- Systematic audit of 1st‑party SOP TRA audits.
- Assess compliance against ISO
45001, ISO
14001, and local legal requirements (ADOSH, Dubai Municipality, UAE regulations, UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice, UAE OHSMS National Standard). - Ensure compliance with EGA Life‑Saving Rules and critical risk controls.
- Follow EGA policies, procedures, ESG governance procedures.
- Use the compliance verification checklist.
- Demonstrate strong audit governance and stakeholder engagement capabilities, including clear audit report writing.
- Lead opening and closing audit meetings and coordinate with senior leaders across EGA operations.
- Use data and system competence, including familiarity with SAP, PowerBI, safety data analysis, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Conduct governance and compliance audits of hazardous materials (Haz Mat) management systems covering storage, handling, transportation, segregation, labelling, inventory management, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance.
- Verify compliance with the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice, including fire prevention systems, hazardous storage requirements, emergency response arrangements, fire protection systems, and inspection‑maintenance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent).
- Certified Lead Auditor – ISO
45001 (ISO
14001 preferred). - Licensed Hazardous Materials (Haz Mat) Expert/Consultant recognized by UAE Civil Defence (Dubai or Abu Dhabi) or equivalent UAE regulatory authority (preferred).
- NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management (preferred).
- Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) (preferred).
- Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) from NFPA (preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of ADOSH requirements, Dubai Municipality / UAE HSE legal framework, and UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice.
- 5–7 years minimum experience in HSE auditing or safety governance.
- Proven audit experience in heavy/high‑risk industries such as aluminium or steel smelters, energy, oil & gas, petrochemical or large process industries.
- Demonstrated experience in governance‑level audits (not only site inspections) of high‑risk operations and process safety environments.
- Experience in post‑incident and serious event audit reviews.
- Experience conducting compliance verification audits of SOPs/SMPs/TRAs.
- Experience conducting compliance verification audits of hazardous materials (Haz Mat) management systems.
- Experience auditing compliance with the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code and industrial fire protection requirements.
- Experience conducting governance audits related to Process Safety Management (PSM), Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and critical risk controls.
