Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Quality Control Technician role based in Abu Dhabi. The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting structural steel materials and finished products to ensure compliance with technical specifications, industry standards, and internal quality guidelines. Daily tasks include performing dimensional checks, visual inspections, and non-destructive tests, documenting inspection results, and reporting non-conformities. The role involves working closely with production teams to address quality issues, assisting in root-cause analysis, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
The technician also helps maintain calibration records for measuring devices and ensures that quality control procedures and safety regulations are consistently followed.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of quality control principles, inspection methods, and basic metallurgy related to structural steel.
- Experience with measurement tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and familiarity with non-destructive testing practices is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and industry standards.
- Good documentation and reporting skills, including maintaining quality records and preparing inspection reports.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to identify and elevate quality issues promptly.
- Willingness to work on-site in a heavy industrial environment and comply with all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in mechanical engineering, metallurgy, or a related field; equivalent experience in steel fabrication or manufacturing will be considered.
- Prior experience in structural steel manufacturing, fabrication, or construction quality assurance is an advantage.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with production, engineering, and management teams.
