Our client is seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer (Electrical) with a proven background in Data Center MEP construction projects within the UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and contractual requirements.
The role requires extensive experience in mission-critical facilities
, including power distribution systems, UPS, generators, transformers, MV/LV systems, grounding, structured cabling, and testing & commissioning activities. The candidate will work closely with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and commissioning teams to ensure the highest quality standards are achieved throughout project execution and successful handover.
- Conduct routine site inspections to ensure all electrical installations comply with approved shop drawings, project specifications, client requirements, and international quality standards.
- Monitor QA/QC activities across assigned project areas in accordance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and project schedules.
- Coordinate Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) with consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
- Verify that all electrical materials delivered to site comply with approved material submittals, technical specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
- Ensure installation quality of critical Data Center electrical systems including:
- Medium & Low Voltage (MV/LV) systems
- UPS Systems
- Standby Generators
- Transformers
- Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
- Static Transfer Switches (STS)
- Earthing & Lightning Protection Systems
- Cable Tray & Conduit Installations
- Structured Cabling Infrastructure
- Monitor installation activities to ensure compliance with approved shop drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with approved QA/QC procedures while maintaining complete inspection records.
- Prepare and maintain inspection schedules aligned with project milestones.
- Identify quality deficiencies and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
- Ensure rejected materials are properly identified, quarantined, and removed from site.
- Raise, monitor, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Site Observation Reports (SORs).
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions with construction and engineering teams.
- Conduct follow-up inspections to verify closure of NCRs and implementation of corrective actions.
- Escalate recurring quality concerns to the QA/QC Manager and recommend preventive measures to avoid repetition.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate inspection and testing activities for all electrical systems prior to commissioning.
- Witness electrical testing including:
- Insulation Resistance Tests
- Continuity Tests
- Transformer Testing
- UPS Testing
- Generator Testing
- Relay Protection Testing
- Ground Resistance Testing
- Functional Testing
- Integrated Systems Testing (IST)
- Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities alongside specialist vendors and commissioning teams.
- Ensure all testing documentation, inspection records, approvals, and manufacturer reports are completed before system handover.
- Verify compliance with client specifications, authority requirements, and Data Center commissioning standards.
- Ensure all installations comply with mission-critical quality requirements and client standards.
- Monitor installation quality for redundant electrical systems including N, N+1, 2N, and concurrent maintainability requirements.
- Verify proper installation and segregation of critical power systems and communication infrastructure.
- Support Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and participate in commissioning readiness reviews.
- Ensure compliance with Uptime Institute, TIA-942, and client-specific Data Center standards where applicable.
