Responsible for inspecting and ensuring quality compliance ofcoating/painting, insulation, and refractory activities in accordance with approved specifications, ITPs, drawings, manufacturer requirements, and applicable industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect surface preparation, blasting, coating application,curing, DFT/WFT, recoating intervals, and final coating quality.
- Verify coating materials, batch numbers, traceability,storage, MSDS, equipment calibration, and applicator qualifications.
- Witness required coating tests including holiday detection,adhesion, thickness, impact and other specified NDT/destructive tests.
- Inspect insulation materials, storage, installation, cladding,protection, and compliance with line lists, isometrics and equipmentdatasheets.
- Verify piping/equipment readiness, cleanliness, heat tracingrelease, and protection prior to insulation activities.
- Inspect refractory installation, materials, applicatorqualifications, dry-out activities, lining integrity, and inspection records.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure work complies with approved procedures, drawings, specifications and ITP/ITRrequirements.
- Record inspections, test results, deficiencies and corrective actions; report non-conformances as required.
Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical/Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as aPainting/Coating/Insulation/Refractory QC Inspector.
- BGAS Grade II or NACE Level II certification for Coating/Painting Inspection.
- Oil & Gas/Petrochemical project experience is mandatory.
- Experience with major EPC contractors or their subcontractorspreferred.
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, inspectionstandards and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively at construction/project sites.
