Job Summary
We are seeking a Painting & Coating QC Engineer (Site) to oversee and ensure the quality, compliance, and proper execution of painting and coating activities role involves inspection, testing, documentation, and coordination with construction teams, clients, and third-party inspectors to ensure all coating works meet approved specifications, project standards, and applicable codes.
Roles & Responsibilities- Inspect and monitor surface preparation, abrasive blasting, painting, and coating activities at site.
- Verify compliance with approved ITP, method statements, coating specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
- Conduct inspections for surface cleanliness, surface profile, environmental conditions, paint mixing, application, curing, and DFT.
- Monitor parameters including surface temperature, ambient temperature, relative humidity, dew point, and surface profile.
- Perform/coordinate DFT, holiday/spark testing, adhesion testing, visual inspection, and other applicable coating tests.
- Verify batch numbers, shelf life, storage conditions, mixing ratios, pot life, and application requirements of coating materials.
- Raise inspection requests, maintain inspection records, and prepare NCRs, punch lists, and quality reports when required.
- Review coating inspection reports, test certificates, calibration certificates, and material documentation.
- Coordinate with client/consultant inspectors and third-party inspection agencies for hold/witness points.
- Ensure corrective actions and repair/recoating activities are properly implemented and verified.
- Support preparation and compilation of QA/QC dossiers, final coating records, and handover documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable project specifications, manufacturer recommendations, and relevant international standards.
- Bachelor’s/Diploma in Mechanical
- 8-10 years of relevant site experience in painting/coating inspection, preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical, power, marine, infrastructure, or heavy fabrication projects.
- Valid NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector Level 1 or Level 2 certification; equivalent recognized coating inspection certification may be considered.
- Good knowledge of surface preparation, blasting, coating application, DFT measurement, and coating failure/repair practices.
- Hands-on experience with coating inspection instruments and environmental monitoring equipment.
- Knowledge of relevant standards such as AMPP/NACE, SSPC, ISO Standards
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, ITPs, method statements, and inspection procedures.
- Strong understanding of QA/QC documentation and site inspection processes.
