Review contract specifications coating procedures ITPs method statements and client requirements Prepare and review coating quality plans Inspection and Test Plans ITPs and project-specific procedures Provide technical guidance to QC Painting Inspectors and painting subcontractors Review and approve coating procedures repair procedures and technical queries related to coating systems Monitor surface preparation environmental conditions coating application curing insulation and final acceptance activities Ensure compliance with project specifications ISO 12944 NORSOK SSPC ASTM ISO 8501 ISO 8502 and ISO 8503 manufacturer recommendations and applicable client standards Evaluate coating material approvals technical data sheets material certificates and storage conditions Verify coating consumables mixing ratios pot life DFT requirements adhesion testing holiday testing climatic conditions and coating compatibility Lead investigations related to coating failures defects NCRs and customer complaints and recommend corrective and preventive actions Review and approve inspection reports daily reports quality records and final coating dossiers Coordinate with Engineering Production Procurement Planning Clients and Third-Party Inspection agencies to resolve coating-related technical issues Participate in internal and external quality audits and client inspections Monitor subcontractor performance and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and quality Ensure all coating activities comply with QA QC procedures HSE requirements and project quality objectives Support project completion by ensuring timely release of coated items and preparation of final turnover documentation Mentor and develop QC Painting Inspectors and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Education:- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
Qualification:
- NACE Coating Inspector Level 2 or FROSIO Level III preferred. BGAS Grade 1 or equivalent and SSPC Protective Coatings Inspector certification are preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in coating engineering, with strong experience in coating, painting, insulation, and surface preparation activities.
- Strong technical leadership, coating inspection, surface preparation, coating application, problem-solving, subcontractor management, and quality control skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, coating management software, and document management systems.
- Strong knowledge of coating systems, surface preparation, DFT, adhesion and holiday testing, environmental monitoring, coating failure investigation, and applicable international coating standards.
